Accident: Rs Four Crore Compensation for Kannur Native

Abdu Rahiman, a native of Thillankari, Mattannur, Kannur, who was injured in an accident was awarded 23 lakh dirhams (around Rs 4 crore) by the Dubai court.
Abdu Rahiman, a cafeteria employee, met with an accident at Al Ain Jimi in December 2015, involving a UAE national. Rahiman who was critically injured was admitted to Al Ain Hospital and later shifted to Mims Hospital, Kozhikode, for further treatment.
The counsel for UAE national said that the accident occurred when Abdu Rahiman crossed the road carelessly. The court observed that the UAE national violated the rules and imposed a fine of 2000 dirhams.
The case was handed over to Salam Pappinnissery, the legal representative of Ali Ibrahim Advocates, by Abdul Rahiman, Al Ain Malayalee Samajam president and social worker.
A case was filed against the UAE national and insurance company for a compensation of 30 lakh dirhams. Following this, the court ordered to pay 23 lakh dirhams, which include court expenses, to Abdu Rahiman.
The court medical officer prepared the medical report after visiting the victim at Kannur, where Abdu Rahiman was having his treatment.
