KOCHI:
Prototype designing, being a biggest challenge in the startup ecosystem, Kochi-based hardware incubator Maker Village showcased a technological solution for the same helping the budding entrepreneurs.
Dassault Systemes, 3D engineering and design firm in association with CadMarc Software Pvt. Ltd. showcased its CATIA software for prototype designing in 3D. “CATIA is end to end software. It is used to design, simulate, analyze, and manufacture products with very micro level details. The software is used in a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, consumer goods and industrial machinery,” said Raahol Singh, Head of Academic Programs, Dassault India.
He also cited the examples of designing and testing of Boeing 787 using CATIA. “The software is integrated with designing and testing systems. Hence, once the design gets approved in the software, it is ready to go for manufacturing. Boeing 787 was manufactured in the process,” Raahol added.
Maker Village hosted the product demo and interactive sessions with Dassault Systèmes and Excelpoint Technology Ltd on technology solutions in IoT, design, robotics and electronics, at its campus on Friday.
Arun S Kumar from CadMarc Software Pvt. Ltd noted CATIA is capable for real-time output rendering. “CATIA can shape the world we live. It has the capability to render real-time output of the product,” said Arun.
Dassault says it addresses the design needs of all manufacturing organizations, from original equipment manufacturers, their supply chains, to small independent producers. Representatives from Excelpoint, a leading regional electronics components distributor, presented a range of solutions that address market requirements for segments in IoT, robotics and consumer electronics, and the latest technologies from its suppliers.
The company is a distributor of components, engineering design services and supply chain management to original equipment manufacturers, original design manufacturers and electronics manufacturing services in the Asia Pacific region. Maker Village is a project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India, and the Government of Kerala.
