CISSA Seminar on ‘Chemical Safety and Sustainable Development Goals’ on July 10

THIURVANANTHAPURAM:

The city-based Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) and the Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) Thiruvananthapuram acknowledged by United Nations University, will organise an Interactive Seminar on ‘Chemical Safety and Sustainable Development Goals’ under the aegis of ‘Campus Leaders for Sustainable Development’. The seminar will be held in association with Institution of Engineers (India) – Kerala.

The programme will get underway at the Institution of Engineers Hall, Vellayambalam, Thiruvananthapuram on 10th July, 2019 at 3 pm. Sathish Sinha, Associate Director, Toxics Link, New Delhi, who will be the chief guest at the function, will deliver the keynote address.

Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, except ‘No Poverty and Quality Education, all the others are linked to Chemical Safety. As India is facing consequences of Industrial and Vehicular Pollution at an extreme level, it’s high time we initiated awareness programmes and implemented action plans to curb the menace, said Dr. C. Sureshkumar, General Secretary, CISSA.
