Federal Skill Academy – Convocation Ceremony of First Batch Held

The convocation ceremony for the first batch of 26 students of the Federal Skill Academy, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project of the Federal Bank was held at the Academy premises at Kochi.
Congratulating the batch for the 100% results in the examinations, Thampy Kurian, General Manager – HR (Federal BaDSC_0070nk) encouraged the students to take up the challenges of the job and also requested candidates who got placement to sponsor at least one deserving student for the course.  The certificates for the students were distributed by Kurian along with Neetha Sharma, MD & CEO (IAPMO), Shri R.Balachandran, CMD (SB Global), Shri Satheesh P K, DGM – HR (Federal Bank) and  Vinayarajan, CEO (SB Global).
The placement assistance provided by the Academy ensured that all the candidates attended interviews and the successful ones were given offers from companies like ESSENCO, Bosch, Santrupti Engineers Pvt Ltd and more.
During the three month certification course in Heating, Ventilating and Air-conditioning (HVAC), the students underwent rigorous training in technical skills, communication and soft skills along with industry exposure, to attain the IAPMO certification in Mechanical Systems Design, a certification that is recognized worldwide.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Federal Bank started the Federal Skill Academy on October 18th 2015 to offer value added skilled courses that enhance employability to engineering graduates and engineering dropouts who are from economically underprivileged families. SB Global Educational Resources Pvt Ltd is the implementing partner for the Federal Skill Academy. The second batch is undergoing training, and admission for the 3rd batch is in progress.
