Gearing up for the Final Showdown, Team Honda Grabs 3 Podiums on day 1

As the race 1 of last round of 2018 INMRC reached its peak, the IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing Team won 3 podium finishes in Super-Sport 165cc and Pro-Stock 165cc categories today in Madras Motor Racing Track, Chennai.

The track also witnessed Race 1 of the last round of Honda Talent Cup which saw stellar performances by riders in both the CBR 250R Expert class and the CBR 150R Novice class.

Outlining the rider’s performance of Day 1, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand & Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Today we bagged 3 podium finishes. Our rider, Rajiv Sethu had crashed during the race, however, he bounced back up and finished third. The riders have demonstrated immense skill on track today. Setting an example for other riders with his commendable performance, Anish Shetty sealed his win with one more podium finish today. Witnessing Mukhail riding back home with another win was a proud moment as we are so happy to have discovered such young talent. I stand extremely confident of our rider’s performances for tomorrow and expect a great closing with some wins for this season.”

Race 1 Results:

Super Sport 165cc
Adding another podium to his tally of 6 podiums till round 4, Honda rider, Mathana Kumar outperformed by securing the second position in the category and clocked a total race time of 12:39:132.

Following his footsteps was Honda rider Rajiv Sethu who claimed third position today. He finished with a total race time of 13:07:859. After today’s race, Rajiv now has a total of 4 podiums including 3 wins in his kitty. Leading until the last lap, unfortunately Sarath Kumar crashed in penultimate corner C11 at the track.

Pro Stock 165cc
Soaring high on points in Pro Stock 165cc and leading the charge of team Honda is the international rider Anish Shetty who won today’s race. With this win, Anish has sealed the rider’s championship.
Honda riders Mithun Kumar and Senthil Kumar finished at the 5th and 13th place respectively.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR 250R
Showing consistent performance in today’s race was Bengaluru boy Abhishek Vasudev who secured the first position with a total race time of 12:22:261.

Following Abhishek back home was Anish Shetty who claimed the second position and recorded the best lap at 2:01:532 in today’s race. Finishing third was Aravind B who was challenged by Senthil Kumar and Amit Topano in a fight to claim the position. However, acquiring the position with a difference of 7.544 seconds and total race time of 12:29:805.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR 150R
Witnessing a tough competition from over 17 riders, Honda’s new-gen riders battled it out for acquiring the podium finishes.

14-year star, Mohammad Mukhail who has been securing maximum wins in the category, claimed yet another win today by outperforming others. Giving him a tough challenge was Kartik Vasant, the Karnataka boy who clocked in the second best timing at 13:14:110. Amidst a lot of fluctuation between riders, Aandhu K.K secured his podium with 13:15:080 race timing.
