KOZHIKODE:
IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) announced a fee cut of INR 2 lakhs as a measure of its commitment and solidarity with the State of Kerala, the citizens of Kerala, the businesses hailing from the State and the economy of the State. IIMK has taken this step to help rebuild the economy and recapture wealth creating capability impounded by the floods in the state. This opportunity will help the younger community of the region to stand together with the State and help develop managerial capabilities. In line with this initiative, the current applicants for the batch of 2018-20 will pay a fee of INR 8 lakhs (plus applicable taxes).
A substantial number of the aspirants for the EPGP Programme at Kochi Campus of IIMK hail from Ernakulum, Trissur and Trivandrum region. These regions are the ones that are predominantly affected by the recent deluge. In lieu of the current hardships, the institute has extended the EPGP online application deadline to 6th October 2018. Also, the EMAT entrance test and Interviews have been rescheduled for 13th and 14th of October 2018.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director at IIMK said, “In the month of August, the unprecedented rains created havoc among the citizens and the economy of Kerala. In the midst of this chaos, Alumni, Staff, Students and Faculty of IIMK contributed in terms of money, belongings and manpower to help the people. Along with IIMK, many government and non-government agencies, individuals and institutions also offered help. The unique Kerala model of governance, synonymous with empowerment at the grass root level managed the situation with great compassion and competence.
The institute has been directly and indirectly involved in rebuilding Kerala in collaboration with the students and the alumni. Hence, as a proactive measure to alleviate the pain, IIM Kozhikode has trimmed down the fees by INR 2 lakhs.”
