KSUM’s ‘Seeding Kerala’ to Set Stage for Investors to Put Money in Startups

Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), in association with LetsVenture, is organizing the 4th edition of ‘Seeding Kerala’ programme next month in Kochi to bring together the High-net-worth-individuals (HNIs) of Kerala to provide them opportunities to invest in some of the best startups from the state and other parts of India.

The national-level event comes close on the heels of Kerala receiving the honour of ‘Top Performer from the Central Government in the annual States’ Startup Ranking 2018. The conference, to be held at Marriott Hotel, Kochi on January 23, will host some of the marquee investors from the country’s startup ecosystem and senior officials from the State and Central governments.

KSUM will offer around Rs 10 lakh and other prizes to the best startup in the country that will be chosen at the meet. The highlights of the conference will be Angel Investing Masterclass – covering the basics of investment and portfolio diversification, legal aspects of investing, and some remarkable business case studies from the state.

About 10 leading technology startups selected at the national level will be getting investment opportunities and guidelines from experts. They can snap up upto Rs 3 core as investment, and will get business partners. They can pitch their ideas before the individuals and institutions, who will be coming to the event with a readiness to invest in startups.

Market access, industry exposure and one-year branding support are the other opportunities in store for the startups. Investors will get opportunities for participating in the startup policy formulation, investing in the best 50 startups in Kerala, partnering with Funds of Funds of the Government of Kerala, facilitation space in Incubation Centres and networking with potential partners etc.
