GOA:
Christmas is just around the corner and Grand Hyatt Goa officially embraced the season of joy, in all its grandeur with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony held at the Confeitaria. The event was attended by guests that were treated to canapés and cocktails curated specially for the occasion. The magnificent Christmas tree, decked with trinkets in accents of gold, silver and red was lit up by Jaco Le Roux, General Manager at Grand Hyatt Goa.
The ceremony also played host to an enthusiastic bunch of kids from Care and Compassion Goa based in Santa Cruz. Each one of the kids came along with delicately handmade ornament that went up on the tree. The spirit of the season was elevated by the young bunch singing Christmas carols that filled the room with delight. Care and Compassion – Goa is a safe home for kids coming from not so fortunate backgrounds.
A safe home for boys and girls, the organization provides a safe and protected environment for 22 children. With an aim to make sure the kids lead a normal life, the trust puts all efforts to ensure kids receive good food, clothing and an education in schools and colleges. The ultimate goal for Care and Compassion is to help kids live a normal life like any other privileged child in terms of education, food, health, care and love.
Over the last one year, the team at Grand Hyatt Goa has invested a lot of time and effort into the organization, helping kids be a part of a much bigger family. The 22 kids at Care and Compassion have been a part of a host of fun activities that include, Christmas, Easter and Holi celebrations, sessions on hygiene and personal grooming, sailing, cake decorating competition and more.
The resort is going grand for the holidays and they have set the tone for the festive season by celebrating this joyous ceremony in a special way. General Manager, Jaco Le Roux, presented two of the kids for creating the most creative ornaments. The evening progressed with a special Italian dinner at The Verandah. Guests were treated to some home-made pasta, risotto, burrata caprese, cappuchino funghi porcini, orecchiette al ragu di agnello (Lamb pasta) and branzino alla livornese. The evening ended on a deliciously sweet note with a classic Tiramisu that had everyone asking for more.
