NISH Plans Seminar for Parents, Care-givers of Differently Abled

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) has planned an online Interactive Disability Awareness Seminar (NIDAS) on “Social Protection of Differently Abled” for parents and care-givers on March 17.
The seminar, being organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Justice, will be handled by Mr. M.P Mujeeb Rahman, State Project Coordinator, State Initiative on Disabilities, Kerala Social Security Mission. The proceedings of the seminar, to be hosted by NISH on its campus from 10.30 am onwards, will be simultaneously webcast at all the District Child Protection Units (DCPU) offices for audiences present there via internet.
The two-and-a-half hour-programme in Malayalam aims at creating awareness on rights of the differently abled as well as the concessions, grants and services available to them, to a larger audience of parents and caregivers. Interested people who wish to participate may contact the Child Protection Units Officer nearest to them.
Those who wish to join may register online in the link, http://nidas.nish.ac.in/be-a-participant/or install the app ‘NIDAS’ from Playstore. Participants from Trivandrum district can also attend the event on the NISH campus.
Individual registrants who wish to participate from home should have a personal computer/laptop/tablet along with reliable high speed internet connectivity, webcam and microphone.
