KOOTHATTUKULAM:
Muthoot Aashiyana is a project initiated by Muthoot M.George Foundation with the key objective to provide houses for those who lost their homes during 2018 flood as well as for those who are homeless. Under this project, construction of 180 houses already started and out of which 73 houses have been completed.
These 18 houses are constructed in 1.05 acres of land in Koothatakulam, which is donated by V.J. Lukose from Vellamadathil House, Elanji. Piravom MLA Anoop Jacob, laid the foundation stone for these houses along with, Muthoot Group Managing Director George Alexander Muthoot and Muthoot Group Joint Managing Director George Thomas Muthoot.
These houses, which include a two-bedroom, kitchen, hall and toilet, have a built-up area of 500 sq. ft. and costing around Rs 5,40,000. Iris Builders & Interiors is spearheading the construction works. Muthoot Group is a company which has always worked for the betterment of the community and believes that providing a family with a home can easily bring those families back into their normal lives, said George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director of Muthoot Group.
Muthoot Group CSR Head Babu John Malayil, Koothattakulam Municipal Chairman Roy Abraham, Elanji Grama Panchayat President Joyce Mampally, CPM Koothatakulam Area Secretary and Meat Products of India Director Saju Jacob, Ward Councilor S. Rajan et al were present in the function.
