Africa Good Market for Kerala Startups: Scale to Africa Conclave

Africa has been a good market for Kerala startups for several years and we have to tap the full potential of the region by building more collaboration, said Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) CEO Anoop Ambika today.

Anoop was inaugurating the ‘Scale to West Africa’ conclave at Technopark here, organised by Neonicz Software Solutions Private Limited in association with Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). The trail-blazing conclave was aimed at setting the stage for the scaling up of technology and business collaboration between the vibrant West African economies and the Indian IT and startup ecosystem.

On the occasion, Anoop also launched the enhanced digital platform of the Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery. “Africa has a mature market and a lot of social changes and innovations are happening there,” he said.

Anoop said the good work that our startups do actually becomes the most powerful marketing message of the state. “Besides, the clients become ambassadors of the vibrant startup and knowledge ecosystem of Kerala,” the CEO noted.

Anoop added that around 15 startups presented their products and services before the Liberian delegation, seeking possibilities of collaboration in various domains.

Lauding Neonicz for their collaboration with Liberia, Col. Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO of Technopark, said IT companies in Technopark are the ambassadors of the state’s vibrant IT ecosystem.

Making a presentation on West Africa, Augustus J. Flomo, former Deputy Minister of Economy of Liberia and CEO of Gusceman INC, said Africa is a new frontier of opportunities for businesses and enterprises for exploring the new market, investment and transformation.

Noting that startups can extend technical knowledge with Africa through partnerships, Flomo said the market in Africa becomes the centre of attraction to work together as there are vast opportunities in information and communications technology, fintech, manufacturing and real estate sectors.

Cecelia C. Kpangabala Flomo, Executive Registrar, Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery, said it was exciting to get a solution from Neonicz for the manually done tasks by their officials for a long time and now it would help health workers in Liberia to deliver better services.
