The Amrita Civil Service Academy completed its first Foundation Plus programme, which aims at improving students’ proficiency in English and introduces them to the basics of Civil Service Examination, with some prominent names in administration and education sharing their experiences with the aspirants for the topmost bureaucracy of
Guest of honour, retired Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) B R Vijayakumar shared his experiences as a civil servant, including the time he made a narrow escape from a tiger. He expounded the importance of conserving and nurturing nature and biodiversity.
Dr Anita Vijayakumar, who was also chief guest, gave away mementos. The valedictory function was presided over by Prof Gopalakrishnan K, Chairman of Amrita Civil Service Academy. Also present were Jayakumar S, Director of Administration, Dr Geetha Jayakumar, Director of Student Affairs of the Academy, and Prem C Nair, Former Principal of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan.
‘The Carrybag of Thoughts’, a collection of 15 poems by Gopika N, who has just finished Plus Two, was launched at the function. The book will be available for sale from June 2.
