Anti-Corruption Crusader Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy IAS Creates Record Again

Dr Raju Narayana Swamy, an IAS officer popularly known as Kerala’s anti-corruption crusader has created one more record – for performing a record number of duties namely 38 as Central Observer of the Election Commission of India – including a duty as International Observer in the 2018 Zimbabwe Elections.

This record has been achieved through his assignment in the Mandla Parliamentary Constituency in Madhya Pradesh- one of the very few constituencies in this country that is spread over four districts- Mandla, Dindori, Seoni and Narsingpur- to be precise Swamy, known as Kerala’s clean-up officer, is famous for his staunch stand against corruption.

He shot into fame as District Collector, Idukki for his actions against illegal encroachments leading to the resignation of a Minister.

It was the first time in the history of the country that a minister had to resign on the report of an IAS officer. He also earned fame as District Collector, Trichur when he single-handedly widened the Pattalom Road and the Inner Ring Road.

He also won – in 2021- the acclaimed Leonardo da Vinci Fellowship instituted by the Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation Policy, George Mason University for his scholarship in intellectual property law.

Swamy has been awarded the 2018 Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award by IIT Kanpur for his professional integrity in upholding human values.

He is a prolific writer and won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Travelogue for Santhimantram Muzhangunna Thazvarayil.

Swamy has also won the prestigious Homi Bhabha Fellowship (in cyber law).

With a B.Tech from IIT Madras in computer science and engineering and a PhD in law from the Gujarat National Law University, Swamy holds a PG Diploma from the National Law School, Bangalore as well as an LL M from NLU Delhi- both with gold medals.
