A drastic change is needed in curriculum of school sector in our country to achieve development in the educational sector, says Richard Hay, MP.
Inaugurating the State Convention of CBSE School Managers and Principals organised by Kerala CBSE School Management Association here, he said that improvement in the educational sector could be achieved only through good curriculum. CBSE schools are centres of excellence and a change in this sector could be reached only through the school managers and principals.
‘There should be an evaluation of results in the education. The dedication and prominence given by CBSE for education cannot be questioned’, Richard Hay said.
There is a huge difference between the students studying at CBSE and other syllabuses. Excellent education could be ensured when the the gap between these students are avoided. Education is the only sector for success in several fields and it was proved by China, he added.
Prof K V Thomas, MP, who inaugurated the Management Empowerment Programme said that changes should be brought in the education sector from pre-primary to higher education. He pointed out that our education system is yet to compete at the international level.
Prof M P Abdul Samad Samadani, who delivered the keynote address, said that the contributions made by CBSE schools to the society should be recognised. CBSE education gives prominence for key values in education.
Still there are several challenges faced by the education sector. The education sector should be given more prominence to overcome the challenges, he added.
Kerala CBSE School Management Association president Adv T P M Ibrahim Khan, who presided over the meeting, said that false propaganda and untruth are spread against the CBSE schools from certain quarters. They are trying to damage the reputation of schools as there are no unity in the CBSE school sector.
Association treasurer C A Abraham Thomas and SB Global Trainer and Mentor Balachandran led the technical sessions. General convenor V J George Kulangara, general secretary Dr Indira Rajan, core committee convenor K M Harris and P S Ramachandran Pillai participated. Justice C K Abdul Rahim inaugurated the valedictory function.
