KOCHI:
Centre for Polar Sciences, a collaborative Centre between Cochin University of Science and Technology(CUSAT) and National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research(NCPOR), Goa, under the central Ministry of Earth Science(MoES) was inaugurated by Dr M. Rajeevan, Secretary, MoES.
The Centre which aims to boost research and development in polar sciences by conducting courses on different branches of polar science, organizing joint workshops/seminars in relevant topics and implementing novel research projects in rele fields will function at the School of Marine Sciences in the lakeside campus of CUSAT. The logo of the Centre was launched jointly by CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr K.N. Madhusoodanan and Dr P.G. Sankaran, Pro-Vice Chancellor. Dr M. Ravichandran, Director, NCPOR, Dr V. Meera, Registrar, Prof. Mohamed Hatha, Dr Rahul Mohan and Dr P.S. Sunil took part in the inaugural function held through Google meet.
