Chancellor’s Chair Award Brings in Leading Luminaries at CUSAT

KOCHI:
The Cochin University of Science and Technology received the Chancellor’s Award instituted by the Governor Justice (Retd). P. Sathasivam for the best University in the State of Kerala during 2016-17 and accordingly the University instituted the Chancellor’s Chair initiative that aims at bringing leading luminaries and Scientists from the top Universities across the globe for academic enhancement of various departments in CUSAT.

As per the above policy, the Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, CUSAT has selected Dr. David M Checkley, Professor Emiritus, The Scripps Oceanography, US SAN DIEGO, California will deliver Keynote address on the variability and importance of mesopelagic fish in ocean ecology on 19 th February 10.30 am at School of Marine Sciences Auditorium. (Rtd.) Justice K. Sukumaran will inaugurate the function and will be presided over by Dr. R Sasidharan, Vice Chancellor. Dr. S Bijoy Nandan, Head, DMMB, Dr. Rosamma Philip, Dean, Dr. N Chandramohanakumar, Syndicate Member, Dr. Aneykutty Joseph, Director, School of Marine Sciences, and Dr. Priyaja P will speak.
