Chendamangalam Handloom will be Positioned in Global Market: Hibi Eden

Hibi Eden affirms that necessary projects with the help of central government will be in place for the promotion of Chendamangalam handloom in global market. As part of the election campaign the candidate was visiting various handlooms in Karimpadam of Chendamangalam along with MLA V D Satheesan.

Hibi Eden commented that Chendamangalam being the centre of Kerala’s traditional practice, it is the responsibility of the society to conserve these handlooms. He added, these handlooms are livelihood of hundreds of people and downfall of the business shatters their dreams. He also stated that renovation of the handlooms will be included in the Ernakulam vision document and pertinent market will be identified to promote the handlooms. Also, necessary steps will be initiated to export high quality handloom products.

V D Satheesan expressed his gratification in the recovery of the handlooms which were completely destroyed in the recent flood. Every bit of the handlooms including raw materials, equipment’s etc were ravaged in the flood and it is with the help of NGO’s, representatives of people and private organization that the handlooms were restored to its previous glory. He added, the right market in India and abroad has to be identified as well.

UDF Candidate campaigns in Paravur constituency
Hibi Eden, UDF Candidate, received a grand welcome in the Paravur Constituency, from where he commenced his tour today under the leadership of MLA V.D Satheesan. The campaign started at Maajaly and went to Thelathuruth, Kanakankadavu and reached Elenthikkara, where he was received with open arms by the senior Congress leaders. At Puthenvelikara Panchayat, the group of party members who worked with George Eden for his election campaign, greeted him.

Even while going to Malavana, Thazhchira, Thiruthur, Thiruthipuram , Chittanapalli he didn’t forget to meet the elder UDF workers on the way.

By afternoon Hibi came to Thrikkakkara to take part in a function conducted by the KSU workers of Bharat Matha College. Along with MLA P.T Thomas, the candidate received an enthusiastic reception after which he travelled back to Paravur to the handloom village of Chendamangalam. He then interacted with the handloom workers of Karimbadam. He affirmed that when he gets to the Parliament he will make sure to raise his voice for the development of the traditional handloom industry.

After visiting Paliam Palace, he travelled to Kootukaadu, Ochangadi, Vadakumpuram, Kothuruthu, Moothakunnam, Vadakekara, Chittatukara and Vavakadavu where he visited kadhi production unit and other public institutions. After which he inaugurated the Chittatukara committee office and continued his tour.
