THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Thamarai Nayakam, a Class VIII student from Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya, Nalanchira, has been honoured as the Youngest Embedded Programmer by Thiruvananthapuram-based technology training company Networkz Systems.
The 12-year-old Thamarai Nayakam wowed everyone at the Networkz Systems Annual Meet by displaying astounding scientific temperament and a creative thought process. With knowledge of Electrical & Electronics that is beyond his age, the Class VIII student was described as a kinesthetic learner with a lot of practical knowledge and experience in this medium. He has been taking active part in all science projects and competitions.
Thamarai Nayakam had earlier been awarded the Youngest Scientist of 2018 by Kalady Sree Sankara University and Asianet. Thamarai competed with his seniors in Engineering Model Making Competitions. He won the first prize in the “Inspired to Innovate” Science competition organised in honour of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Dr. Raja Chandrasekar, retired senior scientist from Baba Atomic Research Centre. Students had to construct working engineering models from scratch, and Thamarai Nayakam came first in the competition.
Thamarai, who has been endorsed by the Aero Club of Indian Institute of Space and Technology, and Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya, Nalanchira, in various categories, has shown keen interest in robots and has been successful in constructing a few.
For the past two years, Thamarai Nayakam has been learning programming at Networkz Systems, which has made a name across Kerala and Tamil Nadu by offering courses relating to iOS, Android Studio, Embedded systems using Aurdino, PIC, ARM, Raspberry PI, IoT, MVC, CCNA Security, Ethical Hacking, and Network Security. He was honored by Alagar Rajan, Executive Director; and Mathai Chackochen, Director of Networkz Systems at the company’s annual meet held at the Hotel Hycinth.
