CM Inaugurates KSUM’s Malabar Innovation Zone

The Government will support all initiatives to tap the potential of technology for the development of the state, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said while inaugurating the Malabar Innovation Entrepreneurship Zone at Mangattuparamba near here today.

The facility is set up by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in partnership with Kerala Clays and Ceramics Products Ltd. (K.C.C.P.L), seeking to boost the startup ecosystem in north Kerala. Noting that the IT sector in the state is poised for major strides, the Chief Minister said Startups have an increasing role in shaping the future of the state and the Government will extend total support to them.

The Government has been pursuing a policy that ensures that the investors can come to the state and set up enterprises in a hassle-free manner. Apart from upgrading basic facilities like power and digital connectivity, the procedures for making investment have also been simplified. These measures have started showing results, the Chief Minister added.

Minister for Industries, Sports and Youth Affairs E P Jayarajan presided over the function. Members of Parliament P. Karunakaran and K.K. Ragesh; MLAs T.V. Rajesh and James Mathew attend the function.

The incubation centre aims at creating successful entrepreneurs having business proposals leveraging disruptive advances in information technology to enable business opportunities, preferably relevant to the Indian context, thereby creating employment leading to economic and social development of the Malabar region.*
