KOCHI:
The two day international webinar on “Vulnerabilities through the gendered lens: Lessons from Covid-19” organized by Women Studies Centre (WSC) of CUSAT was marked by good participation from all over the world.
The webinar was inaugurated by Dr P.G. Sankaran, CUSAT Pro-Vice Chancellor, with Dr. Poornima Narayan, Syndicate member, Dr. V Meera, Registrar and Dr.K. Ajitha, Director, WSC joining the function. Prof. Dr. J .Devika, CDS, Tvm deliberated on the challenges faced by women during Covid-19. International speakers including Preetha Menon (Switzerland), Dr. Dorris Padmini(Malaysia) and Dr. Jaya(Australia) shared cross national experiences of vulnerability of women during Covid-19 pandemic. Invited talks by experts from several domains like health, culture, economics, and social development including Dr. Saradakkutty (Film and Literary critic), Dr. Ashaletha (Principal Scientist, CIFT), Cine star Fara Shibla and Dr. Jayashree(Pariyaram Medical College) expressed their views in the webinar.
