By NE Reporter on March 28, 2025

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A high-profile Cuban delegation visited Technopark on Wednesday and expressed keen interest in collaborating with Kerala’s IT ecosystem, terming it an ‘inspiring model.’

The three-member delegation included Abel Aballe, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in India; Saumel Tejeda Diaz, Business Director of XETID, a Havana based information technology company; and Angel Oscar Pino Hernandez, General Director of XETID.

They held discussions with Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd.), CEO of Technopark and Vasanth Varada, Deputy General Manager (Marketing & Customer Relationship), who briefed them on the salient features of the state’s robust IT ecosystem and achievements of Technopark.

The discussions focused on fostering collaboration in the fields of healthcare and business technology, particularly in relation to the Dr. Connect and Doobiz Platform web applications.

“We are looking forward to develop training and capacity building centres in Cuba and we hope the Technopark model is inspiring in that process,” said Abel Aballe.

“The IT sector in Kerala has a solid foundation and is growing in the right direction and we are looking forward to collaborate with Technopark, starting with Foxdale, to fasten the tech driven ecosystem in Cuba,” said Angel Oscar Pino Hernandez

Col Nair (Retd.) pointed out that Technopark gave utmost importance in balancing technology and ecology, which is key for sustainable growth.

Noting that the state has been a leader in many aspects, including socio-economic development, he said apart from having robust ecosystem, the capital city boasts of world-class infrastructure, talent pool and connectivity.

The delegation is working on striking partnership with Technopark-based Foxdale Private Limited, and met its Managing Director Padmakumar GN during the visit.

“The IT sector in Kerala has a solid foundation and is growing in the right direction and we are looking forward to collaborate with Technopark, starting with Foxdale, to fasten the tech driven ecosystem in Cuba,” said Angel Oscar Pino Hernandez.
