Cochin University and Nippon, the world renowned Japanese agency for ship construction, safety and classification have signed MoU on ‘ClassNK Award’ given to the selected students of academic excellence. Dr. Abdul Rahim, Regional Manager, South Asia, ClassNK and Dr. Sunil K. Narayanankutty, Controller of Examinations signed the MoU in the presence of CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha. This award will be given every year to the best three final year projects of the B.Tech Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding course of Department of Ship Technology. The award comprises a certificate and cash prize of Rs. 60,000. The award for the year 2015 was presented to Gautham Krishna C. G, Kiran Ramesh and Sangeeth Roshan and for 2016 to R. R Vishnu, Sreenath Subramaniam and Rohit S. Nair. Dr. Mariamma Chacko, Head, Department of Ship Technology, Dr. C. B. Sudheer, Dr. Manoj. T. Issac and S.G Rahul spoke.
