KOCHI:
Cochin University of Science and Technology entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India.
Cusat Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha and NCESS Director, Dr. Poornachandra Rao signed the MoU. The MoU envisages joint collaborative research in areas like Geosciences, Costal Studies, Hydrological and Atmospheric Sciences, Remote Sensing, Geo Informatics. Cusat will recognize NCESS as a research centre. MoU will facilitate the usage of library and laboratory resources available in both institutions. New PG, UG and Diploma courses are also proposed.
The final semester projects as a partial fulfilment of Degree and internship programme will be provided by NCESS. NCESS will start joint research with various departments of School of Marine Sciences in Cusat. Registrar, Dr. S. David Peter, IRAA Director, Dr. K. K. Saju and T. N. Prakash, Scientist and Group Head, NCESS were also present.
