CUSAT signs MoU with Company Secretaries of India

KOCHI:
Cochin University of Science and Technology, signed a MoU with the institute of company secretaries of India (ICSI) for academic collaboration on 15 th March. The MOU aims to promote excellence and impart knowledge and skills in common areas of interest particularly corporate governance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and regulatory compliances.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India. The School of Legal Studies, (SLS) CUSAT is a prestigious institution imparting legal education and research. SLS is offering UG, PG and Ph. D programmes in core areas identified and MOU would facilitate development and sharing of expertise in common areas of interest.

CS N. Balasubramanium, Chairman, Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of ICSI introduced the theme of MoU. Dr Vani Kesari, Director, School of Legal Studies, CUSAT introduced the dignitaries. The meeting was presided over by Dr K N Madhusoodanan, Vice-Chancellor, CUSAT. The MoU was signed by C S Nagendra D Rao, President of ICSI on behalf of ICSI and Dr Meera V, Registrar, on behalf of CUSAT. C S Nagendra D Rao, President of ICSI addressed the dignitaries and extended all support from ICSI in development of knowledge and expertise in domain areas. Dr Meera and C S Devendra V Deshpande, Vice –President, ICSI addressed the gathering. CS Baiju, Chairman, Kochi Chapter of ICSI rendered the vote of thanks.
