Thiruvananthapuram: V Sasi of CPI was elected Deputy Speaker of Kerala Assembly on Wednesday. He bagged 90 votes as against the 45 votes secured by the UDF candidate I C Balakrishnan.
LDF and UDF had fielded Dalit MLAs as their candidates for the deputy speaker’s post.
O Rajagopal, the lone MLA of BJP in Kerala Assemby, made news by not coming to the Legislature on the day of voting.
