KOCHI:
Skool Guru secured a prestigious spot in Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, providing the e-learning platform free access to leading AI models through Azure, including OpenAI GPT-4, besides one-on-one guidance from experts with the MNC.
The achievement will boost the profile of the Kerala company that leverages cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize the educational sector, top executives said today.
Ameer Shaji, who is CEO of the Malappuram-based startup, pointed out that the slot will qualify Skool Guru to get help from Microsoft, including expert advice to further improve technology and thereby make the service more efficient.
“This provides tools for better business models, direct marketing strategies and product planning,” Shaji revealed. “It will now be possible to open the door to the international market while also establishing relationships and cooperation with global startups.”
Employing artificial intelligence (AI) as well, Skool Guru has been pushing the boundaries of e-learning amid its reputation as one of the most valuable global tech firms delivering unique education to students from KG to 12th Grade.
As a platform under Edubrew Smart Learning LLP, the edtech company is now making focused use of AI to create more personalized and innovative learning experiences tailored to each student’s unique needs, according to Shaji. The five-year-old entity was originally Prism Academy.
“Skool Guru began as a dream to provide students with more than just tuition — a vision to deliver quality education that could make a meaningful difference in their lives,” notes Shaji, a native of Areekode near Malappuram, recalling how the startup overcame a 2020 break owing to the Covid-19 challenge. “This disruption compelled me to rethink how we could continue to provide effective learning. Thus was born Skool Guru — a transformation of the original Prism Academy into an online education platform.”
The company, which initially focused on serving students in Malappuram and Areekode (near Manjeri), expanded its offerings to students in other parts of the state as well as the country, besides Qatar, the UAE and other GCC countries. “Today, we support over 500 students actively engaged in learning across India, GCC, Canada, Australia, and USA. We have successfully guided over 1,000 students to complete their studies,” Shaji reveals.
To him, Skool Guru’s core strength lies in its personalized learning system, offering live and recorded video lessons, interactive quizzes, and exams. “Each student benefits from expert mentorship provided by highly qualified teachers. Beyond regular school classes, we also offer additional training to meet the diverse needs of our students,” he notes.
“Our app also enables students to clear doubts in real-time with teachers, providing an enhanced learning experience. We assess each student’s academic level and provide personalized mentorship to ensure they receive the best possible education,” says the CEO, also highlighting the role of his other co-founders Asharudheen and Jerin PG, among others, in the success of the platform.
KSUM is the Kerala government’s nodal agency established in 2006 for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
