  • Equal Consideration of All Treatment Methods: Janarogya Prasthanam Meet

    KOCHI:
    Janarogya Prasthanam meeting has demanded to consider all treatment methods as equal and withdraw the false cases registered against naturopaths.
    Medha Patkar, Mumbai Life Care Association chairman Dr Vilas Sawai and Rathod are also present on the occasion of the meet where healthcare workers from across the state and other states gathered.
    Justice P K Shamsudeen inaugurated the meting. Janarogya Sathyagraha Samithi office-bearers saud that the meeting was a corganised as part of the protest against registering false case against Dr Jacob Vadakkanchery.
    The protest campaign will start on October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi Day. Janarogyam message will be delivered after the Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan. Indefinite fast will be organised in front of Kerala High Court from October 10.
    The government is trying to arrest naturopaths who are teaching people to treat themselves and live without diseases. They are being denied the freedom of expression, the meeting said.
    Dr. Jacob Vadakkanchery was arrested for explaining the side effects of leptospirosis in Malayalam, which is already available in English. Though there was no complaint against Dr Adir, he was arrested.
    The government who is acting on the direction of the IMA, who are the functioning on the advice of pharmaceutical companies, will now turn to homoeopaths. The people should come forward against the allopaths who are giving poisionous medicines to patients and collecting huge amount from them.
    Janarogya Sathyagraha Samithi chairman V Sugathan presided over the meeting, Dr Jacob Vadakkanchery conducted classes in various health topics and detailed about his prison experience.
