First Asia Pacific Masters Games: Peter Joseph Won Silver Medal

Peter Joseph won Silver medal for India in weight lifting at the First Asia Pacific Masters games at Penang, Malaysia. 57 years old Peter, an Angamaly native, secured the silver medal in the 77 kg category. 64 countries are participating in the masters games.
Peter was competing in weight lifting after a long break of 30 years. He managed to secure silver in the very first round and was not able to compete in the second round due to thigh muscle cramp which made India loss its gold medal.
Peter started his sports career as a weight lifter and turned out to be the national champion at the age of 22. Then changing his career to body building, Peter has also awarded the Mister Kerala and Mister India titles several times. He had also won bronze medal in the world body building championship conducted at Athens, Greece, in November 2017, which makes him the only one from Kerala to secure a prize in international body building competition. Now, on his come back to the weight lifting field, he secured India a Silver Medal.
