PANAJI:
The three-day conference on Applied Economics and Finance held at Goa Institute of Management (GIM) saw professors and research scholars from across the country, presenting their research in the area of economics and finance. More than 45 research scholars and faculty from various Institutes and universities from India, West Indies and Bangladesh attended the conference.
Dr. Babu Nahata, Professor of Economics at the University of Louisville in the US and Dr. Romar Correa, retired Reserve Bank of India Professor of Monetary Economics, University of Mumbai; two stalwarts from the field of economics and finance shared their expertise in their key note speeches and in the workshop sessions, conducted by them.
Said Dr. Ajit Parulekar, Director of GIM “We, at GIM, organized this conference with the objective of having scholars and researchers present their research ideas, research questions and concepts, and which we hope would trigger and provide further direction to the presenters, participants and the audience in their research journey”.
The research articles were distributed across several domains and topics ranging from corporate risk, joint ventures, inventory management, corporate governance, capital structure, supply chain, pricing, liquidity, ethics, green consumerism, international trade, global investment etc.
Said Dr. Joy Chowdhury, Faculty at GIM and the convener of the conference “GIM plans to organize this conference every year with a wider scope and a bigger scale, and hopes to attract scholars across India and from other countries as well to present their research articles”.
