Heartfelt Celebration Unveils National Award-Winning Film “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect”

KOCHI:
The acclaimed National Award-winning film, “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” marked its success with a heartfelt celebration, bringing together children who have undergone life-changing heart surgeries through the ‘Touch a Heart’ initiative in collaboration with Aster Medcity.

Padma Bhushan Nambi Narayanan, the real-life hero behind the film’s narrative, along with the film’s director and actor, R. Madhavan, producer of the movie Dr. Varghese Moolan, a distinguished businessman and public activist, and Farhaan Yasin, Vice President of Aster India, felicitated the children in the joyous ceremony.

The film, released in July last year, not only achieved critical acclaim but also inspired the initiation of the ‘Touch a Heart’ initiative. Launched by the film’s producer, Varghese Moolan, through the Varghese Moolans Foundation in collaboration with Aster Hospitals, the project provided free heart surgeries to 60 children under the age of 18 from economically backward families. These children, identified through medical camps organized across Kerala with the support of Aster DM Healthcare’s charitable arm, Aster Volunteers, underwent surgeries at Kochi Aster Medcity and Aster MIMS, Calicut.

The ceremony, held at the Angamaly Deluxe International Convention Center, was a jubilation of the film’s National Award for Best Feature Film. The multilingual film highlighted the infamous fake spy case that brought great scientist Nambi Narayanan and Indian Space Science (ISRO) to a crisis. “Rocketry” successfully portrayed the true events on the silver screen. During the ceremony, Farhaan Yasin, Vice President of Aster India, bestowed an honor by presenting Ponnada to Varghese Moolan, R Madhavan, and Nambi Narayanan.

“I am delighted that the film depicting my life has given rise to the ‘Touch a Heart’ initiative. The efforts of the Varghese Moolan Foundation and Kochi Aster Medcity deserve immense praise,” said Nambi Narayanan expressing his joy about the success of the initiative.

R. Madhavan emphasized the importance of sharing inspiring stories like Nambi Narayanan’s with children.

Dr. Varghese Moolan expressed his happiness in collaborating with the Aster Group. “So far over 250 children received free heart surgeries under the Varghese Moolan Foundation and we will be doing such philanthropic activities in the future too”. He added.

During the function, Dr. Edwin Francis, Senior Consultant, Department of Pediatric Cardiology Aster Medcity, Kochi, Aswathi, Coordinator, Cardiology Department, Sarath Kumar T S, Branding and Communications Team Lead, Aster Medcity, and others attended the heartwarming celebration.
