THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
SMSS Hindu Mahila Mandiram, a trail blazer in women empowerment in Kerala, will be conducting a free medical camp at Vellanad in the district on December 29, as part of its centenary year charity initiatives.
The camp, which is exclusively for eye and ENT diagnosis, will be held at Mahila Mandiram’s rural unit, Panchavadi, at Valiyara, Vellanad from 9.30 am to 1 pm. K S Sabarinathan MLA will inaugurate the camp, being conducted in association with Gitanjali Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. Eye Specialist Dr Ambika, and ENT Specialist Dr Muhammed Shafeeq will lead the camp.
Vellanad Sasi, President, Grama Panchayat, Vellanad, will preside over the function. Vellanad Sreekandan, Chairman, Health and Education Standing Committee; Bindu. S, Chairperson, Welfare Affairs Standing Committee; MS Deepakumari, Member, Grama Panchayat; Sivasankaran Nair; M Sreekumari, Secretary, MahilaMandiram; and Geetha Kaimal, Joint Secretary, will also attend.
