HITES Signs First global Contract with Guinea Government

HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES), the fully-owned subsidiary of Public Sector HLL Lifecare Ltd (HLL), has secured its first global contract under which it will offer consultancy services for the construction of two hospitals in the Republic of Guinea.
HITES has signed a contract with Guinea’s Ministry of Health with the overarching objective of strengthening the western African nation’s health System under the line of credit funding extended by the Government of India. HITES will act as Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the construction of two hospitals with 200-bed each at Kankan and Nzerekore, two of the biggest cities in Guinea. The project involves an outlay of USD 35,000,000 (Rs 233 crore) Line of Credit from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The agreement was signed earlier this month in Guinea by Dr. Abdourahmane Diallo, Guinea’s Minister of Health, and  S.N. Sathu, Chief Executive Officer, HITES.
“The agreement with the Guinea government is another feather in the cap of HITES,” said Mr. R P Khandelwal, Chairman, HITES.  “The focus of HITES will be on excellence in execution and thereby building happiness,” he added
“The scope of work includes analysis of the infrastructure gap, supervision of construction and equipment and capacity building,” Mr. Sathu said. “We expect to complete the project within 36 months.”
“It is a great honour for us to be chosen for the project. We expect this to be a stepping stone for more global ventures that will leverage our expertise as a total solutions provider in the specialized area of healthcare infrastructure,” he added.
HITES, a division of HLL formed in 2014, specializes in infrastructure development, procurement and management specifically for the healthcare sector. It has taken up several projects in India for clients, including the Central and state governments, government departments, public sector undertakings, corporations and institutions.
Among those present at the agreement signing were Dr. Aboubacar Conte, Project Co-ordinator;  Amadou Timbi Bah, Chief DIEM; Dr. Sekou Conde, representing the Government of the Republic of Guinea; and R S Manku, Vice President, HITES.
