THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Stepping up its efforts to provide medical services at affordable costs to the people, HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL) has opened two of its ventures in the capital city for the first time — an AMRIT outlet and a Hindlabs blood donation centre.
HLL CMD RP Khandelwal inaugurated AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) outlet in Pulayanarkotta, and Hindlabs’ blood donation centre near General Hospital junction, on Monda
y.
“AMRIT pharmacy at Pulayanarkotta offers10% to 40% discount from the MRP for all items it provides, including medicines (branded and generic), surgical consumables, cosmetics, baby food, skincare products, medical devices, instruments etc,” Khandelwal said.
“The primary goal of AMRIT is to make available and accessible, at very affordable rates, all drugs, implants, surgical disposables that are not dispensed free of cost by hospitals,” he added.
AMRIT is situated at Kottamukku at Pulayanarkotta which is also near the Chest Hospital, Institute of Diabetology, Indian Air Force camp, Akkulam factory and HLL R&D.
A flagship programme of the Union Health Ministry that has completed its first year, AMRIT is being implemented through HLL which has been setting up pharmacies at major Govt. hospitals across the country to dispense the medicines.
Similarly, HLL has opened a Hindlabs Diagnostics Centre & Specialty Clinic in the city to provide quality healthcare and diagnostic facilities at affordable costs, particul
arly to the poorer sections of the society. In order to expand its diagnostic services, Hindlabs, located at TRIDA Sopanam Complex near the Medical College, has set up a blood collection centre near the General Hospital junction that will function from 8 AM to 4 PM.
“HLL has started diagnostic clinics in other states, but the outpatient unit at the specialty clinic is first of its kind in Thiruvananthapuram. Hindlabs offers consultation in the morning and evening by doctors specialized in various fields such as General Medicine, diabetology, ENT, gastroenterology, gynaecology and paediatrics,” Shri Khandelwal said.
Hindlabs also provides diagnostics in various fields, including clinical biochemistry, clinical pathology, microbiology and molecular biology. They also provide echo cardiography, digital X-ray, TMT (treadmill test), pulmonary function tests (PFT), and ultrasound scanning facilities.
