KOCHI:
A three-member team from IBS Software won the prestigious BlockHack 2019 hackathon, held on the side lines of BlockHash Live 2019, an international meet of blockchain experts organised by Kerala Block Chain Academy (KBA) here.
While the contestants from Phaethon Technologies cornered the second slot in the hard-to-crack hackathon, the team from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) came third.
The toppers bagged vouchers worth Rs 3 lakh, while the teams that finished the second and third received vouchers for Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively, from KBA for doing courses under it.
The IBS line-up, who competed as Team Dxi, consisted of Syam Krishnan VS, Aju Mathai and Renjith Narayanan. The contestants from Phaethon Technologies, who entered the fray as Team Phaethon Devs, comprised Athil Gafoor, Lakhan Darshan and Sangeeth S Nair. The competitors from TCS, who vied for honour as Team Meliora, comprised Basil K Y, Vimal P Viswan and Amal C Saji.
The hackathon was organised in association with Allianz Technology, India, on the theme of blockchain in insurance. The contesting teams were asked to create a blockchain system using Corda and Hyperledger platform for effective result. In all, nine teams participated.
The solutions submitted by the teams were analysed based on the problem-solving ability using blockchain technology. The problem was designed by Allianz Technology, India, team.
The hackathon formed a key segment of BlockHash Live 2019, which saw the convergence of blockchain experts and thought leaders from around the world, sharing ideas and deliberating on collaborative opportunities. The two-day conclave was held at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty.
