Intelligence Report Confirms Malayali Links with Islamic State


Thiruvananthapuram: The State Intelligence department of Kerala has filed its first information report about the missing persons from Kerala who are reported to have joined the Islamic State movement ibn Syria.

The report is said to have confirmed that about 20 persons of Kerala origin have joined the organisation. Of them, 15 are from Kasargod and Thiruvananthapuram districts and four from Palakkad. These missing persons include six women and two children. There are reports that two women are pregnant.

The intelligence department has come to this conclusion after checking the email, Whatsapp and facebook details of the missing persons.

Central intelligence agencies are also investigating the IS links of the missing persons.
