KOCHI:
Coinciding with the International Women’s Day, the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is organising a two-day Hackathon starting this weekend, followed by a March 9 panel discussion focusing on gender equality.
The March 7-8 Hackathon at the KSUM’s Integrated Startup Complex in Kalamassery, 20 km north of the city, will see participants proposing technological solutions that can solve various problems faced by women at personal and social levels. On March 9, the venue will host a panel discussion ‘Each For Equal’ featuring four speakers.
Teams with a maximum of six members and necessarily with women, can take part in the Hackathon. The subjects are ‘Menstrual Hygiene and Awareness’, ‘Health Education and Monitoring Women in Workplace & Work Culture Improvement’, ‘Safety and Cyber Risk Awareness’, ‘Mom to Be – Guidance and Monitoring’ and ‘Geriatric Care’.
The March 9 panel discussion, at 3.30 pm, will be addressed by Shana Shihab (Centre for Public Policy Research), Sivapriya Balagopal (Eastern Condiments), Labby George (KSUM) and Krishna Kumar (Green Pepper).
