  • IPS Officers C. Nagaraju and Harshita Attaluri Find Kochi-Muziris Biennale as an Enriching Experience

By NE Reporter on March 12, 2026

    KOCHI:
Saying that art ultimately lies in the eyes of the beholder, IPS officers C. Nagaraju and Harshita Attaluri described their visit to the ongoing Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB) as an enriching and thought-provoking experience that offered diverse perspectives on life and creativity.

Attaluri noted that this was the third time they were visiting the Biennale and said it continues to be a wonderful experience. “We were discussing the idea of what art is even before entering the gallery and observed that it is often difficult to clearly define art. We came to the conclusion that art is what the artist says,” she said.

It was interesting to witness the wide range of perspectives presented through the artworks, ranging from fabrics and stones to traditional colours and even cold storage displays, she said. “The experience was heartening. It is a metaphor for life itself, where different perspectives coexist and add to the richness of life,” she added.

    C. Nagaraju said art is what one perceives as art and that everything can be seen as art depending on the viewer. He noted that the idea that art lies in the eyes of the beholder became clearer to them during their visit to the Biennale in the beautiful setting of Fort Kochi.

Making a strong case for the KMB as a must-visit for everyone, she said once someone visits the Biennale, they are likely to return again and again. He also noted that they look forward to every edition of the Biennale and eagerly wait for the opportunity to come to Kochi to experience it.
