JAMMU:
Two militants were killed as the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid in Machil sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday morning. “An infiltration bid has been foiled in Machhil sector and two terrorists have been killed,” defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.
Kalia said the troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC and challenged the intruders, leading to a gunfight in which the two militants were killed. Weapons have been recovered from the slain militants, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan violated ceasefire violation in Arnia Sector on Saturday. Reports suggest the firing began at midnight and continued till 6.45 am. No casualties or loss reported. According to BSF, Pakistani troops shell Indian border outposts, hamlets along the International Border in Jammu district overnight.
