  • Kerala Tourism’s ‘Lenscape Kerala’ Photo Exhibition Begins

By NE Reporter on February 18, 2026

    PUNE:
A precious collection of frames spotlighting diverse charms of “God’s Own Country’ as a fascinating experiential destination will be on display in the city in the next three days as Kerala Tourism Department opened its landmark all-India Photo Exhibition ‘Lenscape Kerala’ at the Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery today.

Actor Rajshri Deshpande and filmmaker Mangesh Joshi inaugurated the exhibition, featuring 100 curated frames shot in Kerala by 10 leading travel and media photographers of the country.

After the inauguration, they said the exhibition is a great opportunity for everyone to experience and appreciate Kerala’s unique charm.

The exhibition is curated by eminent art curator and critic Uma Nair. Renowned wildlife and conservation photographer Balan Madhavan is the Director of Photography.

After the inauguration, curator Uma Nair conducted a walkthrough of the show along with Balan Madhavan and participating photographer Saurabh Anand Chatterjee.

More than featuring Kerala as a destination, the exhibition captures vivid images of the state’s landscape, culture and memory, as seen by the participating photographers.

The show will run till February 20, from 11 am to 7 pm.

In his online message, Kerala Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas said “We are delighted to bring this moving platform that carries the land’s warmth and vibrance to this great city, which has marked itself a major cultural destination of India, besides being an economic hub.”

“Lenscape Kerala celebrates the state’s cultural diversity and pluralism. Significantly, this photo exhibition is on its all-India tour at a time when Kerala tourism has logged an all-time record in receiving visitors, with footfalls crossing 2.58 crore in 2025. Innovative experiential products and outreach initiatives like this show have accelerated Kerala Tourism’s growth in recent years,” the Minister said.

“Besides its renewed focus on Kerala as a globally-acclaimed destination, the exhibition serves as a way-finder for travellers to spot forests, hills, backwaters, places of worship and festivals that mark the state a destination of lived experiences,” he said.

In December last, the photographers who contributed to Lenscape Kerala had travelled through different landscapes of Kerala for five days, covering a range of themes such as nature, wildlife, heritage, rural and coastal life, architecture, festivals and spirituality.

A trend-setting initiative at a time when travellers seek new, immersive and enriching experiences, Lenscape Kerala brings to viewers visual splendours of the state.

A master class has also been arranged on February 19, from 2 to 4 pm, as part of the exhibition.

The ten photographers who are part of the project are: H Satish, Kounteya Sinha, Shivang Mehta, Saibal Das, Umesh Gogna, Saurabh Chatterjee, Natasha Kartar Hemrajani, Aishwarya Sridhar, Amit Pasricha, Manoj Arora

After enthralling viewers in the city, the exhibition will move on to Bengaluru (Feb 27-Mar 1), Chennai (Mar 4-7), Hyderabad (Mar 12-14), Kolkata (Mar 22-24) and finally reaching Surat on March 29 and coming to a close on March 31.
