KSUM Launches BRIDGE — Corporate-Startup Convergence Programme

KOCHI:
In a landmark move aimed at accelerating technology adoption among Indian businesses, Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has launched the BRIDGE programme — corporate-startup convergence initiative — which provides a platform to corporates and MSMEs to seamlessly inject promising startup technologies in their operations.

Designed exclusively for corporates and MSMEs with annual revenues exceeding Rs 50 crore, BRIDGE (Business Revolution through Innovation, Digital Growth & Enterprise) creates a platform where established businesses can adopt, invest in, or acquire breakthrough technology products built by the country’s promising startups.

The initiative aims to bridge a long-standing gap between India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem and its vast industrial and business sector. While the country has more than 1.1 lakh registered startups and over 63 million MSMEs, there is hardly any platform for a structured, meaningful engagement between them, resulting in slower technology adoption, operational inefficiency, and missed growth opportunities.

BRIDGE, an exclusive time-bound cohort programme, changes all of that.

KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said that over the next three years, BRIDGE aims to facilitate over 500 corporate-startup partnerships, 100 plus technology adoptions, and Rs 250 crore+ in corporate investment into rigorously curated, technology-first startups through the programme ecosystem.

“BRIDGE is designed to create a structured pathway for collaboration between startups and established businesses with measurable outcomes, fixed timelines, and end-to-end partnership support. By bringing together innovation and industry, BRIDGE aims at enabling enterprises to access emerging technologies while helping startups scale through market opportunities”, he said.

Businesses that successfully integrate innovation into their operations will be better positioned to compete and grow in an increasingly technology-driven economy. BRIDGE seeks to provide a practical framework for building those partnerships.

Participating companies will have opportunities to:

  • Adopt startup-developed technologies directly into existing operations to improve operational efficiency and revenue gains;
  • Invest in high-potential startups aligned with their industry sectors, supported by due diligence and evaluation mechanisms with complete support from the BRIDGE team;
  • Acquire technologies or startups through facilitated engagement and structured discussions; and
  • Scale business operations by leveraging startup speed and innovation without the need for extensive in-house R&D from scratch

According to the organisers, sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, healthcare and financial services stand to benefit significantly from increased collaboration between startups and established enterprises as digital transformation reshapes industries across the country.

Among the highlights of the programme are demo days, pilot frameworks, AI-assisted investment matchmaking sessions, transaction support for pilots, investments, and acquisitions, and access to an exclusive cohort of Rs 50 crore plus corporate and MSME leaders. Programme partners will also receive co-branding and national-level recognition as innovation champions.

Applications for the first BRIDGE cohort are now open. Those eligible to join the programme include Corporates & MSMEs having annual revenue of Rs 50 Crore and above. Sectors include manufacturing, logistics, retail, BFSI, healthcare, agri-tech, and professional services.

The programme is also open for decision-makers like CEOs, MDs, Founders, COOs, and CXOs. Further, growth-oriented businesses and organisations that understand the multiplier effect of supporting the startup ecosystem can also join.
