KOCHI:
Othor AI, an artificial intelligence-powered business intelligence startup registered with the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), has raised Rs 60 lakh in a bridge funding round.
The investment saw participation from existing investors as well as new angel investors.
With the bridge funding round, the company’s total early-stage funding has increased to Rs 1.5 crore.
Othor AI was founded in September 2024 by Unni Koroth and Nekender Shekhawat.
The latest investment round includes prominent angel investors such as Amit Ashu, a former colleague of Unni Koroth at leading technology company Whatfix; Avinash Kumar of EasyShip; and Balasubrahmanyan Sridhara of NVIDIA. Amit Ashu has also joined the company as its Chief Product Officer (CPO).
Othor AI is developing an AI-native business intelligence platform that offers a faster and more secure alternative to conventional business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Looker. The platform enables organisations to connect their data sources without coding, analyse information, and generate accurate reports and insights in minutes.
“The fact that our existing investors chose to invest again, while new angel investors also joined us, is the strongest vote of confidence a young startup can receive,” said Koroth, Chief Executive Officer of Othor AI.
“The bridge round gives us the strength to further refine our product, expand customer adoption and enter our upcoming seed funding round from a stronger position,” he added.
The fresh capital will be used to extend the company’s financial runway, accelerate product development and customer acquisition, and prepare for its upcoming seed funding round. The funding will also support Othor AI’s groundwork for entering the US market as part of its international expansion plans.
Koroth previously founded Foradian, widely recognized as a success story in the Indian startup ecosystem. After exiting Foradian in 2019, he spent three years at Whatfix before founding Othor AI.
