THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
It is high time we used technology diligently to practise values in life, thereby sustaining bonding among individuals in modern age, said Pooyam Thirunal Gowri Parvathi Bayi said today.
Noting that people are becoming ‘little islands,’ Parvathi Bayi said it is important to have the knowledge and ability to decide what to choose, discard and improve upon, besides knowing what to evolve for the generations to come.
Parvathi Bayi was delivering the valedictory address as TRIMA 2025, the flagship annual management convention of Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), concluded here on Thursday.
“There is a growing disconnect in families and workplace now. We are circled by our own thoughts and action due to the impact of technologies. It is time we used knowledge and methods wisely for the wellbeing of all,” she observed.
Highlighting that the capital city is a perfect place for habitation and work, she added that the innovative ideas and discussions emerged at TRIMA 2025 will help improve the infrastructure and facilities in Thiruvananthapuram.
“Leadership for an Emerging World – Navigating Technology, Entrepreneurship, & Social Well-being” was the central theme of the flagship event, coinciding with TMA’s Ruby Jubilee.
Former Ambassador T P Sreenivasan, in his keynote address, noted that there is lack of alliance across the globe and every country is waiting for a new world order. Referring to the current ‘trade war,’ Sreenivasan said it is important for business managers to know to where the world is heading to and its changing views.
In his welcome address, G Unnikrishnan, President, TMA, said as a follow-up to TRIMA 2025, TMA will be conducting a dedicated programme, ‘Shaping Young Minds,’ for young entrepreneurs and business aspirants on September 26 at Uday Palace, Kowdiar in the city.
Suresh Kumar B, Sr. VP-TMA, proposed a vote of thanks. Sushil Kumar, GM, SBI, Thiruvananthapuram Circle, was also present on the occasion.
TMA-KIMSHEALTH Theme Presentation Award winners presented their papers on the concluding day of the event.
The two-day event had an impressive line-up of speakers sharing their ideas and perspectives on a host of topics on sustaining economic growth, leveraging new technologies and adoption of the best practices in business and governance.
The convention was conceived as a platform that offers the participants valuable insights on imparting scale and speed to enterprises in various verticals in a national and geopolitical context loaded with challenges and opportunities.
Established in 1985 and affiliated with the All-India Management Association (AIMA), TMA has evolved as one of India’s premier management forums, having CEOs, industry leaders, and decision-makers as its members, committed to promoting management excellence and fostering sustainable development, particularly within Kerala.
Besides TMA members, TRIMA drew a large gathering of management leaders, policy makers, entrepreneurs and academics and students.
As a venue for interdisciplinary exchange cutting across science, management, technology, and societal development, the meet provided a vivid glance into emerging leadership models tailored to volatile and complex global landscapes.
The event also facilitated networking with business leaders, policymakers, innovators and mentors.
