L&T Bags 4th Spot in LinkedIn’s ‘Top Companies’ List in India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
In distinguished recognition for its continued effort towards nurturing and grooming talent, L&T was featured fourth in LinkedIn’s 2021 Top Companies list in India, jumping 19 spots from 23rd position two years ago.

This makes L&T the only infrastructure company to feature in the top 10, among a host of IT, e-commerce and consulting organisations in the country. The list was prepared exclusively using data from LinkedIn’s 740 million members across the globe.

L&T bagged this coveted recognition basis it’s progress mapped across seven parameters such as the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity and educational background. But what stood out significantly was its handling of the COVID-19 situation. L&T also honored its commitment and virtually on-boarded 1000 plus Graduate & Post graduate engineers from premier technical institutes in August 2020.

L&T’s employee centric policies during the pandemic’s early days to not layoff staff while doubling health insurance and evacuating those stranded in the Middle East were lauded by all stakeholders. L&T’s focused approach to groom talent, with most of its directors on the board nurtured in-house, also played a key role in earning this accolade.

Sharing his views, S N Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD, Larsen & Toubro, said: “This recognition boosts our intent in fostering a culture that is considerate, empathetic towards our workforce, and in building careers based on performance, transparency and objectivity. Grooming in‐house talent will remain a key element going forward to help our employees advance in their professional careers and succeed in this disruptive age. With prioritized focus on succession planning, providing aspirational assignments and recognizing technological achievements, we aim to set the highest standards in building a workplace of the future.”

Companies with at least 500 employees in the country as of 31 December 2021 and with reduction of staff by not more than 10% were considered eligible for the evaluation. The ranking helps employees identify top organisations with high growth potential and celebrates companies with great cultures with an employee-first outlook.
