THRISSUR:
Demonstrating his continued commitment to philanthropy and community development, V. P. Nandakumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Manappuram Finance Ltd., has contributed US$1.5 million to the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), the charitable arm of Lions International and one of the world’s largest humanitarian service organizations.
The contribution reinforces Nandakumar’s longstanding commitment to social welfare and humanitarian causes. Alongside his leadership in the financial services sector, he has consistently championed initiatives that create meaningful and lasting social impact through the Manappuram Foundation and the Lions movement.
The donation will support LCIF’s global humanitarian initiatives, including programmes focused on education, healthcare, disaster relief, youth empowerment, vision care and community development, helping improve the lives of vulnerable communities across the world.
In recognition of their exceptional contributions to humanitarian service, Nandakumar and his Sushma Nandakumar, were honoured during the Lions International Convention held in Hong Kong. The recognition celebrates their unwavering commitment to advancing community welfare and supporting impactful social initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Nandakumar said: “Giving back to society has always been at the heart of everything we do. Through this contribution to the Lions Clubs International Foundation, we hope to strengthen humanitarian initiatives that create sustainable and meaningful change in people’s lives across communities. Together, we can build a more compassionate and inclusive future.”
Through the Manappuram Foundation, he has been actively supporting initiatives in education, healthcare, disaster relief, women’s empowerment, skill development and financial inclusion, reaffirming his vision of creating lasting social impact beyond business.
