K M School of Marine Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology celebrated the National Maritime Day 2018.
N M C Nair, Chairman, Institute of Marine Engineers (India) was the chief guest. Prof. (Dr.) K.A. Simon, Director, K M School of Marine Engineering presided over the function. Capt. P. Jayaprakash, Former Director of Ports, Kerala, delivered the keynote address. Prof. N. G. Nair, Course–in-charge, KMSME distributed the Women empowerment Scholarship instituted by the DG Shipping, India to the first year girl cadets. Ms. Nila John, the first girl cadet who passed out and joined as Fifth Engineer Officer at MV Kavaratti, Lakshawdeep Development Corporation Ltd., Cochin and Prof. N.G. Nair spoke.
