Scaling up its overseas market, Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCCF), known by brand Milma, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Food Links Food and Beverage Solutions for exporting its premium products to four GCC countries.
The MoU was signed by Milma Managing Director Asif K Yusuf and Food Links partner Muhammad Shibu here in the presence of Milma Chairman K S Mani.
As per the MoU, Food Links will facilitate export of Milma’s premium products to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Oman.
The MoU mandates Food Links to purchase 20 ton of ghee from Milma every month for marketing it to these four countries, apart from other products worth a minimum of Rs five lakh to be marketed to each of the four countries.
This agreement comes as part of efforts by Milma to strengthen the overseas markets of its premium products and enhance the brand value, Shri Mani said.
The MoU has made it clear that the MoU with Food Links will not in any way affect Milma’s existing agreement with the Lulu Group and limited contracts with other dealers for marketing its products in Gulf countries, Mani said.
As per the agreement, Milma will supply the products, ensuring the required quality parameters. The products will be supplied by Milma’s Central Products Unit at Punnapra, Alappuzha.
Food Links will obtain the clearances from the respective countries, besides taking care of other requirements such as logistics, customs clearance and legal formalities.
Food Links will pay the entire amount to Milma for the products at the time of the purchase. The MoU is valid for one year, it could be extended after a review of the outcome including the targets set as part of the agreement.
