THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Milma’s PET Bottle Curd of 500 gram, launched by its Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (TRCMPU) recently, has bagged the ‘Metro Product of the Year’ award.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil presented the award to N Bhasurangan, Convener, Administrative Committee, TRCMPU, at a function held here last evening to mark the World Food Day. Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development J Chinchurani was present on the occasion. The Metro Food Brand Awards have been jointly instituted by Metro Mart and the Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce & Industries with support from the South Kerala Hoteliers Forum.
Receiving the award, Bhasurangan said TRCMPU is in the process of manufacturing yogurt along with other new products. “All the three regional unions of Milma are making coordinated efforts to raise the quality of Milma products to global standards,” he added.
The pet bottle Curd is made from skimmed milk using probiotic culture, and hence is ideal for people with lifestyle diseases like Cholesterol and diabetes, as well as stomach and gastro-related illnesses.
As part of products diversification and scaling up of the marketing network, Milma has launched five new products in the last three months.
