By NE Reporter on May 29, 2025

    MUMBAI:
As businesses worldwide accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, professionals face mounting pressure to upskill and stay ahead of rapid advancements. The shift towards automation and data-driven decision-making has made it essential for professionals to not only understand these technologies but also apply them effectively in their fields. Ranked world’s No. 1 university in the 2024 QS World Rankings and affiliated with 98 Nobel laureates, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has consistently empowered professionals with the knowledge and expertise to drive change.

To support professionals in adapting to these shifts, MIT xPRO in collaboration with Emeritus, a global leader in accessible and affordable high-quality education, has announced the launch of two specialised programs including Building AI Products and Services and Advanced Program in Technology Leadership and Innovation. Designed by MIT faculty and industry experts, these programs emphasise hands-on application, focusing on equipping professionals with the strategic and leadership capabilities needed to drive technological change within organizations.

As per the Microsoft and LinkedIn 2024 Work Trend Annual Index, AI proficiency is a top priority in India’s hiring strategy, with 75% of Indian employers emphasizing the importance of AI skills for new hires, surpassing the global average of 66%. This data underscores the growing demand for AI skills in the job market, highlighting the need for professionals to stay ahead of technological advancements. By developing AI proficiency, participants can enhance their career prospects, drive innovation, and meet evolving industry expectations.

The Building AI Products and Services program equips professionals with the structured understanding of AI product design, exploring the four critical stages of AI development while learning to assess technical and operational requirements for building AI-driven solutions. The 12-week program is specifically designed for technology professionals, product managers, consultants, founders, and UI/UX designers looking to develop AI-driven solutions. With insights from renowned MIT faculty, live workshops on AI/machine learning (ML) models and generative AI applications in e-commerce and IT, and case studies on emerging AI trends, OpenAI-based product prototyping and a capstone project, participants will develop market-ready skills to evaluate AI opportunities and make a compelling case for AI adoption. It will enable them to gain hands-on experience with ML algorithms and AI tools used across industries, while also differentiating between various ML approaches, and understanding their real-world applications.

The Advanced Program in Technology Leadership and Innovation equips professionals with the expertise to analyze complex systems, apply strategic decision-making, and drive radical innovation. Through this nine-month program, participants will learn to formulate organizational strategies and implement breakthrough leadership techniques. Designed for managers, senior executives, and individual contributors, this program provides insights into emerging technologies like AI, IoT, VR, and quantum computing, helping leaders evaluate their business impact. With live sessions on AI-driven leadership, IoT applications, a capstone project, strategy simulations, and access to cutting-edge technologies and concepts from MIT, participants gain both strategic and technical expertise. The program also offers pre-recorded videos for self-paced learning, discussion sessions, Gen AI demo tools, quizzes, as well as case studies. Led by 15+ distinguished MIT faculty, this program is ideal for professionals looking to harness technology to advance their careers.

Speaking on the programs, David Nino, Senior Lecturer, MIT xPRO, said, “In a world driven by rapid technological shifts, professionals must evolve from simply understanding emerging technologies to leading their application. MIT xPRO’s programs equip participants with the strategic and technical expertise to harness AI, drive innovation, and navigate complex systems ensuring they stay ahead in an ever-changing digital landscape.”

Avnish Singhal, Executive Vice President, Head India & APAC, Emeritus, added, “Our collaboration with MIT xPRO allows us to bring world-class learning opportunities to professionals looking to lead in the fast-evolving tech landscape. These programs blend MIT’s deep expertise in innovation with practical insights, enabling participants to harness emerging technologies, drive strategic decision-making, and create real impact in their organizations.”

The Building AI Products and Services program will commence on June 30, 2025, with a fee of INR 1,75,000. The Advanced Program in Technology Leadership and Innovation will also begin on June 30, 2025 and can be enrolled at a fee of INR 3,85,000.
