Minister for Industries, Commerce and Coir P. Rajeeve announced that Kerala has performed well, exceeding the target set for the state by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries under the Central Government in the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25.
He was speaking while inaugurating the PMFME-Food Tech Kerala 2025 exhibition being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kaloor. Minister said that Kerala, which is a top business friendly state, is now ranked first with a growth of 104 percent in PMFME performance. It was ranked 12th three years ago. Food processing is a very important sector for Kerala’s economy. He added that Kerala has made a leap in terms of MSME loans and MSMEs are accelerating Kerala’s growth.
The exhibition is organized to provide marketing support to PMFME (Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) beneficiaries from Kerala and to create awareness among the public about the PMFME scheme.
Minister P. Rajeeve honored the banks, District Industries Centers, and district resource persons who worked hard to successfully complete the loan applications in the state. He also launched the new products of Daksha Ayurvedic Food Products.
In addition to stalls from PMFME beneficiaries, the exhibition will feature around 100 stalls showcasing food processing technologies, equipment, retailing of food products, branding, packaging, etc.
The ceremony was presided over by Principal Secretary (Industries),Government of Kerala A. P. M. Mohammed Hanish IAS and was attended by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India Minhaj Alam IAS, Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala P. Vishnuraj IAS, KINFRA Managing Director Santhosh Koshy Thomas, KBIP CEO Suraj S, Additional Directors of Industries and Commerce Dr. K. S. Kripa Kumar, and G. Rajeev, SLBC – Kerala Convener Pradeep K. S, Ernakulam DIC General Manager P.A. Najeeb and Robert Louis Gary, Vice President of Stolle Machinery from America participated. The exhibition will be held from 11 am to 8 pm until the 24th of this month. Entry is free for the public.
