YANGON:
Myanmar continues to reel from the impact of a powerful earthquake, with 66 aftershocks recorded in the aftermath of the deadly tremor. The initial earthquake, which struck on April 1, caused significant damage to infrastructure and resulted in several casualties.
According to local authorities, the aftershocks have hindered rescue and relief efforts, leaving residents on edge as they struggle to cope with the ongoing seismic activity. Many have been forced to evacuate their homes and seek temporary shelter in safer areas.
Seismologists have warned of the possibility of more aftershocks in the coming days, urging residents to remain vigilant. The government has mobilized emergency teams to provide aid to the affected regions, while international relief organizations are also stepping in to offer assistance.
The disaster has drawn attention to the need for better preparedness and infrastructure resilience in earthquake-prone areas of Myanmar. Relief operations are expected to intensify as authorities work to restore normalcy.
